General Information
The emphasis of the Graduate Diploma in Social Science is on critical reflection upon the nature of human society, which is informed both by contemporary scholarship and by Christian perspectives, as well as intentional theoretical and applied grounding in specific fields of social science practice. The course is intended for graduates who are seeking an entry-level postgraduate qualification in order to commence work in community service fields including chaplaincy, community development, human services and youth work. It is also designed for those already working in an applied social science field who wish to further their knowledge, skills and career opportunities.
In addition, the Graduate Diploma in Social Science is suitable for people who have a general interest in the social sciences, and those who are seeking foundational understandings of current social science knowledge and practice as a basis for further studies at a Masters level.
Please note that certain units can be completed oncampus only, in either Internal or Intensive modes (as offered). Please contact the School of Social Sciences Administration Office for further details.
